Faster, bigger, better, bolder
A couple months back Mark Decarlo & I set out to transform television with an original idea. Coming up with concept that has never been done is kind of hard. But after a case of beer soda we came up with Elevator Talk Show. Thats right a talk show inside an elevator. Guests would have no idea they were about to step foot onto the set of what was sure to become the latest and greatest TV show to sweep Chicago, dare I say… the nation.
Take a look:
For a first effort it isn’t terrible right? Well today we found out that another show in town, say it rhymes with Josie is doing the exact same bit! WTF?! Take a look.
They might have landed some B-List “Dick” but snagging someone elses material and making it your OWN is a pretty D*** move if you ask me.
Keep the Peace, or someone is bound to take your idea.

Heavy D is dead! It’s sad he died at the early age of 44. But what is more sad is people making (former) stars out to be something they weren’t. Amy Winehouse was not one of the most gifted singers in the last 10 years, but the media acted like she was Janis Joplin or something. She certainly wasn’t big enough to be mentioned with likes of Cobain & Hendrix, but the media threw her in the “27 Club”. But I have already ranted about that.
Back to the issue at hand… I just got done reading the news of Mr. D’s passing and at the end it says…
Heavy D, one of the most influential rappers of the 1990s…
FALSE! The guy was good and this cut is one of my jams, but he sure as shit was not one of the greatest rappers of the 1990’s. He NEVER had a #1 song in the country (read: Billboard Hot 100). He had two songs at the top of the rap charts for a hot minute but he didn’t have the influence of Tupac or Biggie. They each had two HOT 100 #1’s in the ‘90’s in case you were wondering.
So is it sad he is dead? Of course. But don’t say the guy was one of the greatest in the decade that defined a genre.
Keep the Peace…
Funny map from @Chicagoist about how people in Chicagoland view the Midwest. I would have added “The Good Land” for the Milwaukee area.
The show I work on, Windy City LIVE was featured on Jimmy Kimmel last night as part of their ‘Unnecessary Censorship” bit they do every week. Pretty cool.
I WANT TO DO THIS SO BAD! 3D F’in DODGEBALL…
Future Sport of the Day: Sky Zone’s 3-D Dodgeball: One part dodgeball, one part trampoline, all parts awesome.
Also: One part debilitating grade school flashbacks.

I can’t stop listening to this song. I know its like 4 years old but it is pretty great.
“Brandenburg” by Black Violin
A lot of crap happens in my dreams but nothing quite as profound as this one liner I ‘baked’ up whilst dreaming last evening.
P.s. its funnier if you say it like an Italian would.
